REMEMBERING QUEEN’S COLLEGE IN YOUR WILL

Be part of our future

For those with an interest in empowering young women, remembering Queen’s in your will is a wonderful way to play a role in our future. Large or small, your gift will provide future generations of Queen’s pupils with opportunities to succeed and flourish.

If or when members of our community choose to leave Queen’s a gift, we hope that many will opt to support bursaries for bright and talented girls, who without financial assistance would not be able to attend Queen’s. Our vision for the future is that 10% of pupils will study at Queen’s completely free of charge. With the help of our generous supporters, we are confident of achieving this dream.

You may instead choose to direct your gift towards maintaining our historical buildings, so that we can enhance and modernise the college for future generations.

You can also leave an ‘unrestricted gift’, which will allow Queen’s College to allocate these funds to the area of greatest need at the time.

Leaving a gift is an important, life driven decision. If you would like to discuss how your gift could be used, please do get in touch.

Types of Legacy

Residuary bequest
A percentage of your estate is bequeathed to charity. This can be as little as 1% leaving most of an estate to other beneficiaries like family.

Pecuniary bequest
A specific sum of money is bequeathed to a charity. This may have the disadvantage of devaluing over time.

Specific legacy or gift in kind
Specific items such as property, jewellery or stocks can be bequeathed to charity

We strongly advise those who wish to leave a gift to Queen’s to consult with a solicitor. They can advise about the wording of your Will as well as tax and will ensure that your intentions are lawfully recorded. All you need is our name and registered charity number which is Queen's College, London (312726)

We would be pleased to discuss your intentions with you, regardless of whether you consider your gift to be large or small. This pledge is not binding in anyway, and is simply a statement of your current intentions, which will be treated in the strictest confidence, and can be changed at any time. You can contact us by email on development@qcl.org.uk or by calling 0207 291 7018. You can also fill out our online gift form below to make us aware of your intentions.
