Judgment Day at the International Criminal Court 

Ben Gumpert QC will talk about the trial of Dominic Ongwen at the International Criminal Court. Ben was the Senior Trial Attorney who led the prosecution in a trial that has lasted four years.

The talk will grapple with the problems of justice dispensed thousands of miles away from, and over a decade after, the commission of the crimes. It will address the persistent problems of delay in the Court’s proceedings. And it will focus on whether justice is being done by prosecuting a man who was himself a victim of abduction and brutalisation while still a child, and who is alleged now to be suffering from mental health problems.
